Dr. Michael Moll

Dr. Moll is originally from Albuquerque, NM where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology "with distinction" at the University of New Mexico (UNM). He then, along with his wife, Dr. Lori, attended the UNM School of Medicine where they both received their MD degrees in 1989.

Dr. Mike Moll was also inducted into the prestigious medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha. After obtaining his MD degree, Dr. Mike trained in Family Medicine at the UNM Family Medicine Department and was Board Certified in Family Medicine in 1995.

Dr. Mike and Lori Moll came to Walsenburg in 1996 and began a Family Medicine Clinic. In addition to maintaining a Family Medicine clinic they also provided coverage for the Emergency Room, hospital and attended to patients at the Colorado State Veteran's Nursing Home. Both Dr. Mike and Dr. Lori have been serving the residents of Huerfano County for over 20 years and currently work at the Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center, Spanish Peaks Veterans Community Living Center, Spanish Peaks Family Clinic, La Veta Clinic, and the Outreach Clinic.

During his time here, Dr. Mike has held many titles including Medical Director of the Colorado State Veterans Nursing Home. He currently holds the titles of Medical Director of Spanish Peaks Family Clinic, Chief of Staff of the Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center (SPRHC) and Chief Medical Officer of the SPRHC.

In addition to being Board Certified in Family Medicine, he was awarded a Fellowship of the American Academy of Family Medicine.
He is an experienced Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine for the University Of Colorado School Of Medicine and has been awarded the "Walking Stick Award" by the Family Medicine Department for exceptional teaching of medical students.
Dr. Mike was recently appointed by Governor John Hickenlooper to the Colorado State Board of Medical Examiners.
Dr. Mike has worked side by side with his wife Dr. Lori Moll for over 20 years. They have 3 children: Sarah, Emily, and Max
Dr. Mike enjoys playing golf, skiing and fishing and says that while he loved New Mexico, he feels much at home in Colorado and expresses his gratitude to the citizens of Huerfano County for allowing him the privilege of being their doctor.

We work with over two dozen insurance providers, like CIGNA, Humana, United and many more. We provide estimated medical costs and take steps to clearly communicate all costs and answer any quesions you might have.
