Dr. D.J. Dutton
Dr. D.J. Dutton is a Colorado native who grew up in La Junta and obtained his undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He worked many other jobs before becoming a physician, including construction, teaching high school math, machining, and eventually clinical lab science, leading him to medicine.
Dr. Dutton worked at Spanish Peaks Hospital as a lab technologist for many years before medical school. He attended medical school at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Aurora, CO. His time spent in Walsenburg exposed him to rural family medicine and ultimately drew him back to this community to practice.
He obtained his board certification in Family Medicine at the Saint Joseph Hospital Family Medicine program in downtown Denver, Colorado. He spends most of his free time with his wife and daughter, riding motorcycles on the street and in the dirt and working on his home.
